Rebranding for an Italian academy located in San Francisco. The Istituto Italiano Scuola promotes the Italian language and culture in Northern California. After COVID the school introduced the online classes which allowed them to expand to other states and focus to a younger target. With the challenge to adapt itself to current reality, the school aimed to refresh the whole brand, both verbally and visually, with a more modern face.
We decided to use some elements that connect to Italian history and culture. The new identity is built from a serif typography that reminds us of Roman times.
The new logotype also becomes an icon of the school, which will be the base of the graphic system.
The new identity also reinforces the emotional side of the Institute representing a window that opens up to students the Italian culture.
It's not only a language school. The school is aimed to immerse the student in a whole new experience.
Etéreo helped the school to work on its brand voice and positioning. The final approach was to envision a world where performance and entertainment are combined so people can experience joyful moments within their busy lives. With Italian cultural rituals in its DNA, the school promotes this way of living within the community with the purpose of contributing to a more balanced lifestyle.
